Cheap Electric Toothbrushes
i brought some cheap toothbrushes at rite-aid yesterday and brushed my teeth and afterwards my gums BURNED …
i felt like i was dying but it went away after like a minute or two. i brushed again this morning without toothpaste and my gums are all inflamed now. why is this? i usually use an electric toothbrush but i left it at someones house like a week ago.
You are used to using the electric toothbrush, so with using a manual toothbrush, along with it being “new,” you are probably scrubbing way too hard and causing this inflammation and soreness. Lighten up on the scrubbing and make sure its a “soft” bristle toothbrush that you are using. You should never use a hard bristle one, its too abrasive on the tissue. If you don’t see any improvement in a few days after changing your pressure then get your toothbrush back or buy another soft one. In the mean time use warm salt water rinses several times a day to soothe and heal the irritated tissue. Good luck!
