Does tricare pay for dependents dental visits?
When we were at Malmstrom afb the idiots at the clinic told me that tricare doesnt pay for dental for dependents unless its an emergency….when really…wtf does that mean? Makes no sense. Anyway…ever since we seperated from the air force we’ve found out all kinds of things that they said that turned out to be COMPLETELY wrong. I just want to make sure about this b/c my husbands about to go to Warrant Officer Candidatre School…and I wanna know exaclty what the hell the truth is! Does anybody know? Now Im not talking about cosmetic stuff either….Im just talking about cleanings, fillings, etc….just routine stuff. Let me know 
It’s a different system – the idiots at Malstrom were right. Tricare is for medical needs, and the Tricare dental plan (which is a service you have to pay for) covers dental.
However, it is easily one of the worst dental insurance programs out there. When i was on active duty, there was always (always!) some degree of copayment involved in getting my son routine dental care, except when we were overseas.
