Cosmetic Dentists Uk
is it a good idea to get cosmetic dentistry done in thailand?
Basically I have had crowns on my 4 front teeth since I was younger and I want them to be replaced because there just not that nice. Would it not be a good idea while im in thailand to get them done there as it would be way cheaper or will it cause problems when back in uk when going to dentist if i have any problems with them.
All I can tell you from experience is that while on holiday in Langkawi, Malaysia I got really bad toothache and had to see a dentist (I was actually advised to wait til I could back get to Bangkok but it hurt too much!). To my surprise the dentist (a Dr Chew, lol!) was brilliant – clean, modern, trained in UK – and did a root canal and lovely white filling for £11!!! I even got a load of x-rays to take away for my UK dentist, who said it looked like a job well done.
While I was in the waiting room I got chatting to two American men who went on holiday to Langkawi every year and had both routine and cosmetic treatment done there each time. They had never had a problem and had saved thousands.
I would seriously do your homework though and find a good dentist with no language barriers. Look on forums, look on the FCO website, try and find an ex-pat group that could recommend someone to help you. I think there are European countries that are just as good / cheap, probably even dental package holidays you can go on! Good luck….
