Guideline to Choose the Right Dental Toothbrush

For maintaining oral hygiene the first and foremost thing that one wants to have is the right dental toothbrush. But since a wide variety of toothbrushes are available in the market, you can easily get confused about which is the right and the best toothbrush for you. Plus, when friends and acquaintances recommend different types of toothbrush, you can end up making getting more confused than ever on which one to pick for your own dental care.   

When you are shopping for a dental toothbrush, always remember the fact that picking the right one is as essential as regularly brushing your teeth. A right toothbrush will not only help in cleaning your teeth and gums better but it will also make the brushing activity more pleasurable. Also with the right dental toothbrush you can do away with tooth decay, tartar, plaque, and gum disease.

To help you out in selecting the right toothbrush here are some useful tips:

Soft Bristles

A dental toothbrush with soft bristles is the best one. There is wrong notion amongst people that stiff bristles can clean your teeth in a better way. Actually, stiff bristles are harsh on the gums and you can hurt yourself while brushing with such a toothbrush. On the other hand a soft toothbrush work easy on the gums as well as by giving them sufficient stimulation. Soft bristles also prevent the teeth or gums from getting scratched or bruised.

Go for Nylon Bristles

Toothbrush made from nylon bristles are the best one for your teeth. They are both effective and safe to use. Even toothbrush with nano-silver particles impregnated into the bristles is a good option for you. The Nano-silver toothbrush is ideal for use with braces too.

Choose the Right Size

When choosing the perfect dental toothbrush for your own self or your family, go for one with a relatively smaller head. Toothbrushes with smaller toothbrush heads can easily access the back areas of the teeth. Plus, they also helps to move your toothbrush inside the mouth in the right angle which is essential for cleaning hard-to-reach areas, especially if you have a small mouth. The brush should be able to remove plaque from all tooth surfaces without causing damage to the tissue or the teeth. Also remember that smaller soft toothbrush works better for small children.

Easy Grip Handle

Until you have a dental toothbrush with an easy grip, it is of no use. Also, remember to invest in a toothbrush that comes with a comfortable handle and one that is easy to hold. A toothbrush with an easy grip will not slip especially when wet. Plus, you must also go for a toothbrush that is angled or curved as opposed to having a straight handle. This will help the toothbrush in reaching inside your mouth comfortably for proper brushing. Too much pressure can bend bristles and damage your teeth and gums.

Lastly, if you have still some doubt you can consult your dentist to suggest a particular brush that would be most effective for you. And don’t forget to replace your dental toothbrush in every 3 to 4 months and go for regular dental check-ups.
