Electric Toothbrush Dentists Recommend

Question about transparent teeth?

Ever since I was a child, I have had a bad habit of brushing my teeth very hard. I am 15 years old. My gums have receded a little bit, which has made my teeth painful. My teeth are going very transparent around the edges on all of my teeth. You can see right through them and they look gray! I am now using a Rotadent electric toothbrush with Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste to strengthen my teeth. My dentist recommended it. Will my teeth continue to become more transparent? Or will they stop becoming transparent since I’m not brushing hard anymore?

Thanks in advance.

I would want to know about what you drink.

teeth going grayish around the tips and sides is often a sign of acid erosion, caused by regular drinks of coke, pepsi, fanta, orange juice, apple juice or other acid drinks.

It can also happen in people who vomit often, or have regurgitation problems, self-induced or otherwise.

As the acid dissolves the enamel it thins down and becomes translucent, giving the teeth a gray look at the edges.

Often the tips of the teeth thin down a lot and then chip off, so they get shorter.

As the enamel gets thinner the teeth can become more sensitive to cold and heat, too, as there’s less heat insulation between the dentine and the food.

People where vomiting is an issue often brush afterwards to get rid of the taste, but this wears down the softened enamel even more quicky. They would be better to rinse round with water a few times, and then swish some toothpaste about to help re-mineralise the enamel.

I would go and check it out at the dentists.
