How can I get rid of or prevent plaque buildup?

Its right behind my bottom front teeth. I got an electric toothbrush and I floss daily. I dont know what else I can do. This is the only spot I have problems with

The backsides of the bottom front teeth is the area that usually has the worse buildup of calculus (aka tartar) because there is a salivary duct under the tongue that is right behind the teeth. FYI, plaque is what initially forms on teeth and is invisible but very easy to remove. However, if it is allowed to remain on teeth, it will calcify or harden and turn into calculus in 24 hours. Once plaque turns into calculus it can only be safely removed with special dental instruments. Think of barnacles on the underside of a boat and you will have an idea how hard it is to remove calculus.

Due to the curvature of the arch it is often difficult to remove plaque completely in this area which explains why so many people have problems. To prevent or minimize buildup, you need to make sure the plaque is removed before it turns into tartar. Plaque can be made visible by staining with disclosing tablets so if you want to go the extra mile, you can buy some and use them after brushing to check to see if you got all the plaque. If you see red stained plaque after brushing, then go back and keep brushing until all the stained plaque is gone. Plaque must be physically removed from teeth (as with a toothbrush) and no rinse will do it so ignore the hype from TV ads. But there are special rinses that make it easier to remove plaque. These rinses do not remove plaque per se but simply makes the plaque easier to come off with a toothbrush.
