Why do we need Soft bristled toothbrushes if enamel is the hardest substance in the body?
What’s the point of needing a soft bristled toothbrush if enamel is is the hardest substance in the body? Seems to me that a medium or hard bristled brush would be fine, but my dentist recommended a soft one should be used!
maybe it’s the fluoridated water?
yes it is for your gums. Soft bristles are gentler on the gums and helps prevent them from bleeding and more importantly, hard brushing can cause the gums to recede, causing sensitivity amongst other issues.
