Night Guard Front Teeth
Transparent front teeth is this ok?
Just yesterday I went in for a custom color for a crown on my front tooth #8 (it was knocked out when I was a kid and I just got an implant
). The color matching person said my teeth are very transparent. This made me nervious! I keep very good care of my teeth. I brush and floss and use fluoride rinse. I had braces as a kid, even used my retainer till I was 26. I also have a night guard that I wear every night. I am proud of the care I take (I have spent enough on my implant I better take care of them!). Anyways this transparency issue- I never noticed it. They do not look see through to me at all. They are a darker cream color at the top than at the bottom of every tooth (my teeth were never nice white, they are a sort of cream color) but my teeth look the same to me as when I was a kid (I am 32 now)- is there any cause for concern? Should I do something differently in my oral care?
Transparency is nothing to be worried about. Some people have a little more than others especially at the biting edge of the front teeth. The person just mentioned this because they will try to match the shading with this translucency to match the appearance of the natural teeth. Good luck with the implant and porcelain crown.
