Night Guards For Teeth Clenching
TMJ– How to stop jaw clenching at night?
I’ve had TMJ for 4 years now and I realize the main problem for all my symptoms is from clenching my jaw at night while I”m sleeping.
I was given a night guard but that only protects your teeth, I still clench.
I’ve tried all kinds of muscle relaxants, rubbed tigar balm and lavander oil on my jaw joints to try to have them relaxed while I sleep.
I’ve tried differnt herbal teas but still I wake up with a huge headache and my jaw feels heavy and tight all day.
I’ve tried serentiol and jaw stretches, even jaw massages, where you massaged in my mouth.
I’ve tried different stress releiver techniques too although I’m not under a lot of stress, except the stress of TMJ.
But once I go to sleep, the clenching never fails and then I wake up having to deal with headaches, dizzyness, tightness in my face all day.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO STOP THIS?????????

I’m sorry to hear you are suffering so much. TMJ is said to be very painful and downright annoying. Many dentists now make night gaurds that stop you from clenching as well. I happen to wear one myself. I suggest you see a dentist who specializes in TMJ and possibly a chiropractor. Suprisingly enough some chiropractors also specialize in treating TMJ. I hope you can find a solution that fits. Best of luck to you!
