How come dentist’s are as bad as mechanic’s???
I seem to get a different number of opinions on the amount of cavities I have every time I see a dentist. It ranges from 1 to 8 cavities. I don’t know if the Dr. saying 1 is honest or just oblivious/ doesn’t pay attention to detail or the one saying 8 is honest or just a liar>?
I have a friend that went and saw a dentist- The Dr. told him he needed a root canal. He then went to the dentist from the marines and they told him it was a cavity and after hearing what he said about the root canal -they told him that the information was wrong and if it made him feel better to do a root canal they would. The dentist provided by the government was free of charge and to him and it made sense that the person that does free work would be the most honest because their pay doesn’t depend on the degree of the problem. Do I have to join the service to get an honest opinion???

Dentistry is more of an art than it is a science. 10 dentists can look at the same mouth and see 10 different things.
And 10 different dentists might have 10 different ways to fix the same problem.
Some dentists are more aggressive than others and will go after anything that isn’t white.
It isn’t necessarily that the any of the dentists that you have seen are not giving you their honest opinion. That is why you ask your family and friends who their dentist is. If they like him or her, then you should give him or her a try. If you like them, stick with them and develop a good relationship with them. Quit flipping from one dentist to the next. They are not all the same. And they are not equal. But they likely aren’t trying to rip you off either.
