Will my Clarisonic facial brush charge in Tokyo Japan?
I have a US Sonicare toothbrush and charger that charges fine in Tokyo (its a bit slower but still charges) will the same be for a US Clarisonic facial brush? (the Clarisonic charger based is 120v/60hz which I believe is the same for my Sonicare. Or is it best to get some sort of converter as I have read from the Clarisonic user guide –> The charging cradle is designed for plugging into a 120Vac/
60Hz electrical outlet ONLY. Voltage converters or plug
adapters do not guarantee voltage compatibility.
Japan is 100 volt, and US is 110 volt. I lived in Japan and brought several small appliances back to the US, such as a hairdryer and a rice cooker, and they both work perfectly without a converter. Vice versa, I didn’t have any problems with small appliances from the US in Japan.
The voltage is close enough that you shouldn’t have a problem. I would only recommend a converter for a large appliance like a washing machine or refrigerator.
But if you’re nervous, bring one. The average converter weighs over a pound, though, so you should give it some thought…
