How do I get my credit card company to stop payment on a bogus savings membership that I fell into online?
I ordered a teeth whitening product on line and they said that I would get a free 25 dollar walmart gift card with my puchase. I clicked yes and found out that I agreed to a $14.95 a month membership fee after reading the fine print. I found a 1-800 number to cancel my membership and have called every ninght about 30 times for the last 5 days. Every time I call it automatically sais every available specailist is busy and to leave a message. Ive done this to no avail. It is obviously a scam. Oh, its called the Prime Time Savings Company. Anyways, I was wondering if anybody has any advise on how to get my credit card company to stop payment because there’s no way for me to get in contact with the Prime Time Savings company.
This is scam company but unfortunately they haven’t actually done anything illegal. To stop the payments your going to have to cancel your credit card. The credit card are correct they can.t just deny payment but if you cancel the card the payment application by the company will bounce. Your next problem will be they will probably come after you in the courts for breach of contract. After you have cancelled your card you need to take every reasonable step to cancel the account with this company. Phone call history proof with phone bills, letters written with proof of posting and recorded delivery will help prove your intent and their probably incontactability. If they decide to go to court you will most probably have the case denied against them as they have been unreasonable. Good luck.
