I think I may have TMJ, will this go away?
For a few months now, I’ve noticed that sometimes when I chew, the right side of my jaw pops. Didn’t think much of it. Yesterday, the right side of my jaw starting aching. Today it’s worse, and it’s killing me! It’s right at the hinge, and not only does it hurt when I try, I literally cannot open my mouth all the way. I don’t grind my teeth, my boyfriend of five years even said he never heard my grinding my teeth. How could this have happened?
I have to work in three hours and I’ve taken about 9 aspirin and no relief of the throbbing pain. What can I do to make this go away? What will help? If it goes away, will it come back? How do I prevent this from happening again?
Also, I don’t have insurance. 
I have TMJ too and I read it’s one of the most complex parts of the body and there is not a sure way to cure TMj also there are many types of TMJ disorders. I have it and my right jaw and ear pops and clicks and it’s loud in my head though no one else can hear but I can eat fine and open my mouth fine just the popping and clicking is driving me crazy. I went to an oral maxillofacial surgeon and got an mri and I am about to get an analysis of the mri results. If it’s really bothering you I suggest you go to an oral maxillofacial surgeon first and get an mri of your jaw to see if anything is really wrong which sound like it and from there you can find out what kind of treatment is best. Also from what I read so far surgery for TMJ is the last option if nothing else works.
