home teeth whitening kits: how do you use them?
I have seen a great deal on KGB deals for a home teeth whitening kit and really tempted to buy it. The only thing stopping me is that it comes with:
3 maxium dental strength whitening gel syringes
> 2 Teeth whitening trays
> 1 syringe of de-sensitising gel
> Shade chart
> led laser light (shown to increase whitening by up to 300%)
> Full instructions
Where it says syringe, does that mean it will have something in so i can guide like a pen or does that mean i will have to insert something in my gums? As if this is the case I would rather save and go dentist, as surely that is dangerous?

First off, the syringe just holds the whitening gel, you squeeze it into the trays. No needle, no injections. You are safe.
You’re on the right track with this type of kit, but check out a few things first.
Are the trays moldable to your teeth? The cheap ones are not.
What kind of whitening gel is it? Is it carbimide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide? I like Carbimide peroxide better (less tooth sensitivity).
The light doesn’t do anything. There is a big debate around this subject. I can tell you the small lights that take batteries do not do anything. There may be a case that the larger lights like the ones Dentists use help speed up the process a bit, but basically it’s a marketing trick.
It has been reported that the Zoom type lights the Dentists use dehydrate your teeth, this makes them look whiter. However this doesn’t last more that a day or so. Just a trick.
I believe the best way to whiten is to buy an at home kit like the one you are looking at. I would check some different products on-line before you buy the kit at KGB. Do some research on the internet and find a good company, there are many. There are also lots of scams, so be careful.
I would never go to a Dentist again for tooth whitening, I went once. It’s a waste of money, and the results are nothing better than what you can do yourself at home. Oh, not to mention the tooth pain and sensitivty for two days after!
