Types Of Dental Floss
Animals don’t brush or floss their teeth. Why don’t they get dental problems?
I had to go to the dentist like 5 times in the last couple months – because I needed 5 fillings, and also cleaning/scaling, etc.
All this got me thinking: why do humans get tooth/gum disease? (even though we brush twice a day – at least, I always have). — I also don’t eat candy and I don’t drink any types of soda (i.e. pepsi, coke, etc.)
Animals (like tigers, cows, cats, dogs, etc. ) never brush their teeth, and they don’t floss. Why don’t animals have horrible gum and teeth diseases then?
Most of them don’t live long enough to get serious dental problems. Your typical house pet (cat/dog) has a life expectancy of less than 15 years. Smaller pets even less. Some animals have teeth that grow continuously (hamsters, for example). An animal in the wild will die quickly if they develop a bad dental problem. You won’t see a toothless lion walking around gumming a gazelle, so you might assume that lions don’t get bad teeth when in reality the ones with bad teeth are already dead.
