Good design, effective and a little pricey, but hey, if you love coffee like me, investing in an ultrasound toothbrush isn’t such a bad idea.

I have an Ultreo and really liked this toothbrush, however the company went out of business some time ago. You won’t be able to find replacement heads, there won’t be a warranty and you are just going to have to buy another toothbrush once the heads wear out.
Took Awhile to Decide
I was not an immediate devotee of the Ultreo toothbrush. Just out of the box, I had a number of problems getting started
1. The toothbrush was much larger than what I was used to.
2. I had to keep my mouth closed tightly to keep all the liquid generated by the brush from running down my chin. I was not always successful. Not a pretty sight!
3. The sensitivity generated on certain teeth took a few brushings to go away.
4. I gagged at the thought of $23 to replace the brush head every three months.
So with all these disadvantages, how did I become a convert to the new Ultreo?
Simple.
It works.
For me there is a very noticeable difference in the results from my Ultreo as compared to my Sonic (a previous favorite that I dragged around the world).
Here are my results (from one month of daily use):
1. Whiter teeth (removing stubborn coffee and tea stains)
2. Better gums
3. Better breath
Ultreo is expensive. Brush head replacements are expensive, too. But when you consider the cost of a dentist, you might want, at the very least, to give Ultreo a try.
And, if you’re unconvinced, take a look at the clinical results provided for dentists on the Ultreo.com site. Pretty impressive stuff.
P.S.
I notice that there is an Ultreo costing $10.00 more than this model. The slightly more expensive version includes two, not just one, brush heads. Because brush heads run $23 or so, you might consider the more expensive version a bargain. Take a look!
a long time coming
I have avoided power toothbrushes all these years. I was waiting for the technology to get to a state of the art where it would be a major improvement over all those years of developing prototypes.
That time seems to have arrived. I have been using this device for about a month now and I must admit that once I got used to it I was amazed at how well it works. My teeth feel so much cleaner and it is actually fun to use!
I never enjoyed the whole tooth brushing thing, dentistry even less so. This ULTREO makes me excited about brushing. It’s like there is a party in my mouth every day!
What can I say? I’ll see how long this feeling (and the device) lasts.
