Why are my gums so messed up??? PLEASE HELP!! I dont know what else to do D:?
My gums are swollen, pink, and hurt. I have braces and they are so swollen they press against my braces and hurt so bad. They bleed when I try to floss… so I dont floss anymore. I use a waterpick.. so I guess that’s the next best thing. I brush twice a day. It’s not like I don’t take care of my teeth so what is the deal!?!?!
Continue flossing even though you bleed when you do so. Flossing is actually helping to remove the bacteria that is causing the the inflammation in your gums. So the more you floss the better it will be. Using a Waterpick is helpful but be very careful not to point it towards your gum line. That only increases the bacteria and debris under the tissue. (It pushes into the gums)
See your general dentist for regular cleanings while you have your braces on. Your orthodontist should have told you to do this already.
