What mouth wash is the best to use for overall oral health?
I have heard that because listerine contains alcohol, it can damage the cells on the gums.
And alcohol free mouthwashes contain chlorhexidine or Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride which may stain teeth.
So which mouthwash would you recommend?
And how can you prevent the mouth wash staining teeth?
I brush with an electric toothbrush and I floss. I like to use mouth wash because otherwise my mouth doesn’t feel fresh enough

the only two mouthwashes that have been approved for effectiveness are Listerine and Chlorhexidine. Listerine is the one I would definitely recommend for you as it does not cause staining like Chlorhexidine does and it is very effective against many types of bacteria in the mouth. It does not damage cells on the gums. Chlorhexidine is ideal for people who have had some periodontal work done or that are very cavity-prone. The stains from Chlorhexidine can be removed by polishing at a normal dental cleaning.
